Why the market environment is important 

The fenaco cooperative is active along the entire food value chain: from growing to harvesting, storing, processing and selling. The focus of our activities lies in Switzerland. Swiss production is characterised by regional, decentralised structures, short transport routes, particular attention to quality and a high level of product safety. Products from Switzerland are already known for their high degree of sustainability, and we aim to strengthen and expand their position compared to foreign products. It is important and necessary to procure raw materials from abroad when certain agricultural products cannot be grown in Switzerland’s climate or are not available in sufficient quantities (e.g. feed grain, vegetables).
